Yeah For Missions
We have just finished up with our month long emphasis on mission. I cant believe how much kids are interested in missions. We were privileged to have a missionary in Kids Church today and I was amazed to see how well the kids responded to her. They were totally mesmerized by the stories that she had to tell. There were 38 kids there this morning and all of them made a personal faith promise for this year. I want our kids to have a heart for missions and spreading this gospel. I can see this coming true slowly but surely. I am praying that over the year we will even see God call some of them into full time missionary work. Do not ever neglect teaching kids about the importance of praying for missionaries, paying for missionaries, and going to be missionaries themselves. If Jesus changed to course of this world with only 12 men imagine what He can do with 38 willing kids.

Don't Eat Chicken Wings At Night!

Last night at about 9:30 Pastor Dave (our youth pastor) and I ordered 18 jumbo chicken wings. That was not a good idea. Do you know what happens when you eat all that, that late at night. Lets just say it was not a good idea but I let my stomach make my decisions for me. How many times do we allow the way we feel to dictate the way that we behave. If we are having a bad day it does not mean that everyone around us has to have a bad day. My encouragement to you today is not allow your feelings to dictate your life. Allow God to speak to you in a real and a new way. Let Him come along side of you and brighten your day and whatever you do don't eat chicken wings that late at night.

Kids Are Smart

Kids amaze me everyday. I cant believe how much they learn and retain. My wife and I were just talking about how are kids are going to be so eco-conscience. Today all kids hear is about being earth-friendly and "green". We have decided that we had better start doing our part before our kids get old enough to hound us about it. Kids learn and believe everything that adults they trust tell them. If a teacher tells a kid that the earth is billions of years old they believe it. The reality is that the world has learned the importance of marketing to and teaching our kids and if we don't figure out how to teach Christ and how to market Him to kids we will lose them. Kids are like sponges they soak up everything they are told and heard. That is why in this technology driven age we have to learn how to make Christ relevant in a Kids World. We as communicators of the gospel must make it our priority to preach Christ and Him crucified to everyone. After all if our kids can learn to be "green" they call also learn to live "Christ centered" lives.

You Think The Ohio State Buckeyes Would Learn
Well it has been two straight years of defeat for my OH-IO State Buckeyes. I thought at the begining of the game that they were out for some vengence. As the game progressed I quickly learned that they missed it again.
I feel that in life sometimes we do not learn from our mistakes. Just like the Buckeyes we mess up and dont learn from it. Instead we start passing the blame to others. Well it is not my fault that I am not a better leader. It is not my fault that I fell again. It is easy for us to not take full responsibility for our actions. I hope and pray that we would all learn to "Learn" from our mistakes. To get back up on our Spiritual horse and give it another go.
And hey who knows the Buckeyes may just pull it off next year. (not that I am holding my breath)

Everything I need to know I learned from my son.
Do you remember when your kids were little. Mine still is. He is just a little over 1 year and is a bundle of joy. I love him sooooooooo much, it is amazing. But today I learned something from him. He was taking a nap this afternoon and woke up prematurely. He has been crabby ever since. He did not get his nap out. It is amazing when he does because he is so happy go lucky, but when he does not he is a grump. It reminded me about the fact that we need to make sure that everyday we take time for our spiritual renewal and rest. There is nothing better for our spirit man than resting in the presence of the Lord. I hope and pray that this new year you commit to getting your spiritual rest. Then you wont but a grump, but you will be filled with the joy of the Lord as you rest in his presence.

More Done In Less Time!
Well as the day comes to a close, I realize that I have had one of those days where I have been busy all day and feel as though I never got anything done. I think that I am going to try and start scheduling my days a little better. If we don't have a plan for our day others will make a plan for us. I am committing to making a schedule that I can keep no matter what. Except for acts of God or if my Pastor asks me to do something else. I feel as though I can waste so much time on things that seem urgent but are unimportant. I want to work in the areas that are important and urgent important. Anyway if I do nothing at all I will keep feeling as though I have got nothing done. I may just look like this if I am not careful.

Good Night All
Blogging For 2008
Well here goes nothing. I have been wanting to do this for a long time and I guess this was part of my new years resolution. So I am starting a blog. I dont know what all will be on here but I am sure that it will be a lot of random stuff. May God bless you this year and always.
